Suntory Limited has just released a new shipment of “LEGENT”.
LEGENT is an American whisky produced and selected by Fred Noe, the seventh generation master distiller at Beam Suntory’s Jim Beam distillery, and blended by Shinji Fukuyo, Suntory’s fifth generation chief blender. The American whisky was launched in the U.S. in 2019 and has been well received in the U.S. for its “multi-layered yet harmonious flavor” created by Japanese master craftsmanship.
About the name
The name “LEGENT” was coined from the words “Legend” and “Allegiance,” and expresses the brand created by two legends, Fred Noe and Shinji Fukuyo, who worked together with sincerity to create whisky in the United States and Japan, respectively.
About the contents and packaging
In addition to the original bourbon whiskey, the product contains a blend of bourbon whiskey that has been aged in wine barrels and Spanish oak barrels, respectively. It is characterized by its rich aroma, fruity sweetness, dried fruits and spice-like flavor.
The package features a large black letter “L” in the center, the first letter of the product name. The “L” is accompanied by the signatures of Fred Noe and Shinji Fukuyo, who worked together on the product, as well as their signatures. The signatures of Fred Noe and Shinji Fukuyo, who worked together to create this product, are also depicted in profile, along with the signatures of each.
The character of the original whisky, aged in three different barrels, is perfectly harmonized in this straight. The aroma that rises from the glass is rich, and the taste has a gorgeousness that is not found in bourbon. Swirling it with ice makes the aroma more gorgeous and expands, the swollen aromatic heart (core) is cooled and tightly concentrated, and the tannins (bitterness) become rounded. This brings out the delicate aromas from the wine and sherry casks, which are different from those in a harmonious state, and highlights the harmonious character of sharpness, delicacy and mellowness. At “BAR SHINKAI,” LEGENT is available in small quantities: 45 ml for 1,980 yen, 30 ml for 1,320 yen, and 15 ml for 660 yen.
