Today we are pleased to announce the arrival of the new limited edition Single Malt Komagatake Voyager Estate Wine Cask Finish Bottled in 2021 from Honbo Brewery and Mars Shinshu Distillery.
Single malt whisky, made from malt base distilled at the Mars Shinshu distillery, matured for at least three years in bourbon barrels and then aged for at least one year in empty red wine barrels from the Western Australian winery, Voyager Estate.Limited edition of 950 bottles.
Aged for at least three years in bourbon barrels and an additional year in empty red wine barrels vinified at the Voyager Estate.
Various fruit and malt notes create a characteristically sweet aroma. Quite colourfully, the flavour of Voyager Estate red wine casks comes through, and the sweetness of the malt and bourbon casks combine to create a fruity, full-bodied sweetness.
When a small amount of water is added, the wine aroma opens up and shows a different face. The number of bottles sold is small, and as the whisky is mainly exported overseas, it is quite difficult to purchase.
Voyager Estate is a family-owned winery with vineyards in Western Australia, Margaret River and Stephen Valley.Founded by farmer and regional pioneer Michael Wright, who saw the potential for producing world-class wines in the Stevens Valley due to the influence of the sea and the climate.The current proprietor is Michael’s daughter, Alexandra Bird. The winery handles the entire process from cultivation to bottling.In addition to winery tours, Voyager Estate offers expert-led tastings, a shop and restaurant.
