Today we are pleased to announce the arrival of Single Cask Komagatake 2014 No. 1834 AGED 6 YEARS, a limited release from Honbo Brewery and Mars Shinshu Distillery last year.
Single cask whisky distilled at Mars Shinshu distillery in 2014 and matured in sherry hogsheads for at least 6 years. Limited edition of 242 bottles.
Aged at least 6 years in sherry hogshead, Lightly Peated（3.5ppm）
Single cask of sherry hogshead. Fairly dark amber colour.
The aroma and taste are very intense and have the weight of 6 years of ageing.The aroma gave a strong impression of sweetness, but in the mouth the sweetness precedes the bitterness, which soon arrives.Surprisingly low viscosity and smooth mouthfeel from the impression of the dark amber colour and aroma, with plum-like acidity and syrup-like sweetness, but an overall sense of bitterness.The impression is that the ageing process boosts the bitterness of the sherry.
The aftertaste is also like bitter chocolate, with bitterness and sweetness lingering in the mouth.
